Sin (2/5)

  • For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
  • Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,
    for they are from of old.
    Do not remember the sins of my youth
    and my rebellious ways;
    according to your love remember me,
    for you, Lord, are good.
  • Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
  • Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.”
  • Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
  • For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • “In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.
  • Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
  • The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
  • Blessed is the one
    whose transgressions are forgiven,
    whose sins are covered.
  • Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.
  • What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? By no means! We are those who have died to sin; how can we live in it any longer?
  • There is a way that appears to be right,
    but in the end it leads to death.
  • Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.
  • The name of the righteous is used in blessings,
    but the name of the wicked will rot.
  • Wash and make yourselves clean.
    Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
    stop doing wrong.
  • “Come now, let us settle the matter,”
    says the Lord.
    “Though your sins are like scarlet,
    they shall be as white as snow;
    though they are red as crimson,
    they shall be like wool.”
  • We have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws.
  • When anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned.
  • So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
  • If anyone sins and does what is forbidden in any of the Lord’s commands, even though they do not know it, they are guilty and will be held responsible.
  • For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
  • Righteousness exalts a nation,
    but sin condemns any people.
  • Then I acknowledged my sin to you
    and did not cover up my iniquity.
    I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.”
    And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
  • For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.
