Proverbs 18:12

Haughtiness goes before destruction;
humility precedes honor.

Before a downfall the heart is haughty,
but humility comes before honor.

Before destruction the heart of man is haughty,
and before honour is humility.

but humility comes before honor.

A man is haughty until disaster overtakes him,
but humility comes before honors.

That is why the Lord says,

For the Lord grants wisdom!
